SARE Learning Center Offers One-Stop Shop

Ag educators, producers have SARE learning center online'.

The Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education system now offers a Learning Center on line that provides answers to a long list of sustainable farming questions.

So if you're interested in a pastured poultry operation, or need direct marketing information to sell your crops, those are only a few of the topics addressed at the web site at http://www.sare.org/ by clicking on Learning Center at the top of the web page.

Access is free for producers to browse the list of products by name:

n  Books: includes SARE's signature cover crop and ecological guides.

n  How-to bulletins and Factsheets: provide the latest information including how to develop sheep and goat operations.

n  Online courses: mostly for ag educators, these products show how information can be shared with industry.

n  Products: provides information on SARE grant recipient researcher's results for use by producers.

n  Videos: give a glimpse of innovative sustainable practices in the field, and provides a related resource list for growers.

n  Regional newsletters: news and profiles for each SARE location throughout your region.

n  Profiles: here you can get a look at what ranchers and farmers have done to promote successful sustainable projects.

Other features of the SARE website include:

n  A nationwide sustainable agriculture events calendar.

n  Results of two decades of research that is stored in SARE's projects database.

n  Information on how to purchase hard copies of information on products provided by SARE.

The SARE website also provides information on how grants are working in your particular area. A Grant News section provides information about upcoming SARE grant application deadlines.

Regional news on the website is divided into the four SARE national section areas: western, north-central, southern and northeast.
